McKinney, Texas – Surrounded by family, friends and dozens of volunteers George Fuller kicked off his campaign for Mayor of McKinney on Saturday with a city-wide neighborhood walk campaign. “I want to be the Mayor that counts to 125,000, not just 4,” Fuller said to his supporters. “I have heard over and over again that to get something done in this city, all you need to be able to do is count to four. In other words, any four members of council provide a quorum and as such, decide our fate. Assembling these “voting blocks” has become a practice that is not in the best interest of McKinney families, Fuller continued. “We need new leadership at City Hall that will end the “Count to 4” decision-making process that caters to the needs of special interests and replace it with a fair and open process where decisions are based on the needs of all 125,000 McKinney residents.” George Fuller is a community-focused businessman with an 18-year track record of building a better McKinney…literally. A custom home builder, businessman and leading philanthropist, George and his wife, Maylee have actively contributed their time, talents and financial resources to the McKinney community for almost two decades. “My family and I have lived and built our businesses in McKinney since the early 90’s and have witnessed our city grow more than four times in population. Unfortunately, I have also watched our distinct edge in city appeal over our neighboring cities of Allen, Frisco and Plano, slip away. We must get back on track by putting McKinney families first,” Fuller said. As a second generation home and commercial builder, George brought to McKinney a custom home and commercial construction company founded on six decades of experience. George’s commitment to excellence has earned him numerous honors and distinctions including D Magazine’s “Builder of the Year Award” for 4 consecutive years. He is also a 2-time winner of the Parade of Homes “People’s Choice Award.” “My experience as a builder and businessman provide me with the knowledge and skills to successfully lead McKinney through this rapid growth era,” Fuller said. “If elected, I will be a proactive Mayor who will work with our city manager, council and citizens to provide much needed property tax relief to working families, stop over budget spending through greater transparency at City Hall and protect our neighborhoods and commercial districts by increasing support to our police and fire departments,” Fuller said. In 1992, George and Maylee, co-founded the Love Life Foundation, a non-profit organization benefiting children both locally and beyond. The Love Life Foundation provides support to charities such as the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center, The Samaritan Inn, Habitat for Humanity, Agape House and the St. Yared Orphanage- Axum, Ethiopia. George and Maylee remain active board members of the Love Life Foundation, giving countless hours of their time each month. Their charitable efforts have resulted in millions of dollars in contributions in benefit of women and children. In addition to their work with the Love Life Foundation George and Maylee are both talented musicians. They have volunteered their musical talents in benefit of numerous local ministries and charities as well as with ministries across the globe. “Maylee and I have always sought out ways to serve our community and ministries. Becoming a candidate for Mayor is another opportunity to make a difference,” Fuller commented. George and Maylee have made faith and family the cornerstone of their lives. They are the proud parents of four beautiful children. Austin, their eldest son, currently attends Virginia Tech on a football scholarship. Raine, their second son, is a 4th grader who is active in karate and theater. Layla Grace, their youngest daughter, is an energetic 2nd grader who enjoys basketball and soccer. On a church mission trip to Axum, Ethiopia, George met and fell in love with their fourth child, Milyan Hope. George and Maylee adopted Milyan who now resides with their family in McKinney and is a healthy, happy fourth grader. George and Maylee have also made the St. Yared Orphanage one of the permanent beneficiaries of their Love Life Foundation. George and his family are members of Community Life Church in McKinney.
